BMW has revealed the new Concept M Neue Klasse, a bold preview of what could become the brand’s first fully electric M3. Shown at the 24 Hours of Le Mans, this concept gives a clear look at how BMW M plans to enter a new electric era with sharper design, advanced aerodynamics and serious performance ambitions.

The car is based on the upcoming Neue Klasse sedan platform and carries a more aggressive M identity. The front end combines the grille and headlights into one clean visual element, while yellow light accents take inspiration from BMW’s M Hybrid V8 race car. Wide fenders, a strong front splitter, deep sculpted bumpers and a ducktail-style rear spoiler make the concept look closer to a track machine than a simple design study.

For drivers who love performance cars, this concept is especially interesting because it previews the future of BMW M without a gasoline engine. The expected production model may use four electric motors, one for each wheel, supported by BMW’s M Dynamic Performance Control system. An 800-volt architecture and a battery pack of more than 100 kWh are also expected, giving the car fast charging potential and strong driving performance.

The exterior is painted in a new Monza Red color, which gives the concept a powerful and modern look. BMW also uses natural fiber materials in parts such as the splitter, hood vent and rear diffuser, showing that future performance cars can combine speed, design and sustainability.

Inside, the Concept M Neue Klasse looks just as futuristic. The cabin features four heavily bolstered bucket seats finished in Bathurst Blue and Berry Red leather. Instead of traditional seatbelts, the concept uses red five-point harnesses, adding a strong motorsport feeling. A thin full-width digital display sits near the windshield, while a uniquely shaped central screen and new steering wheel complete the next-generation BMW cockpit.

The black knit dashboard with backlit hexagonal patterns adds a high-tech visual effect, while red details on the steering wheel, gear selector and paddles remind the driver that this is still an M car at heart. The production version is expected to appear later in 2026 and go on sale in 2027.
