Genesis is taking its luxury SUV lineup to a new level with the 2028 Genesis GV90 — a huge electric flagship designed to combine impressive performance, long-distance capability, and first-class comfort. With up to 657 horsepower, a 124-kWh battery and an available ultra-luxurious GV90 Neolun version, the new model is positioned at the very top of the Genesis range.
Genesis GV90: a new electric flagship
The 2028 Genesis GV90 measures an enormous 208 inches in length, making it considerably larger than the Mercedes-Benz EQS SUV. The electric SUV is built on Genesis' dedicated eMP architecture and is designed as the brand's largest, most powerful and most luxurious production vehicle.
Every GV90 uses a dual-motor electric powertrain producing a combined 657 horsepower. Power comes from a substantial 124-kWh battery pack, while Genesis claims a maximum driving range of approximately 310 miles on a full charge.
Fast charging and advanced chassis technology
Despite the GV90's considerable size, Genesis is focusing heavily on technology and driving comfort. The 124-kWh battery can reportedly charge from 10 to 80 percent in just 22 minutes when connected to a 350-kW DC fast charger.
An air-spring suspension comes standard and allows the vehicle's ride height to be adjusted. Rear-wheel steering is also included, helping make the enormous luxury SUV easier to maneuver in urban environments.
GV90 Neolun brings coach doors
The most spectacular version is the Genesis GV90 Neolun. Unlike the standard three-row GV90, the Neolun features rear-hinged coach doors and a special structure Genesis describes as having a hidden B-pillar. When both doors are opened, the result is an exceptionally wide entrance to the cabin.
The standard GV90 will be offered with six or seven seats. Six-seat versions use second-row captain's chairs, while the limited-production GV90 Neolun First Edition goes even further with a four-seat VIP configuration.
The Neolun also receives standard 24-inch wheels, a veneer wood floor and distinctive luxury upholstery. Its front seats can rotate 180 degrees while parked, creating a lounge-style cabin. The powered rear doors use a dual-motion hinge that first moves the door backward before swinging it outward.
A futuristic Genesis interior
Inside, the GV90 features a massive 23.6-inch OLED display running the new Pleos Connect infotainment system. The screen can rise an additional 3.4 inches when the vehicle is parked, allowing passengers to use the display for video entertainment.
Genesis is also moving away from the traditional start button. The GV90 activates when the driver approaches and opens the door. After the door closes, the shifter moves into position, and pressing the brake pedal prepares the vehicle for driving.
Luxury materials and bold colors
The cabin can be specified with unusual two-tone combinations, including indigo and green, brown and blue, and purple and beige. The GV90 Neolun First Edition adds exclusive exterior colors, body-color-matched wheels, a wool-and-cashmere interior and special branding elements.
How much will the Genesis GV90 cost?
Genesis has not yet announced official pricing. The standard three-row GV90 is expected to start in the low-$100,000 range, while the significantly more luxurious GV90 Neolun could approach $150,000.
With its combination of electric performance, three-row practicality, advanced technology and first-class luxury, the Genesis GV90 is clearly aimed at buyers who want something more distinctive than a conventional premium SUV.
